Munchkin, a 10-year-old Corgi, nearly faced euthanasia because his owners wished to acquire a new puppy. The veterinary clinic requested the family surrender the dog instead of euthanizing him. Sadly, incidents like this occur frequently throughout the nation.

“He’s completely healthy with a delightful temperament. It just appears utterly absurd to me,” remarked Michele Padilla, who later adopted Munchkin.

Munchkin was relinquished to the regional rescue organization A Home 4 Spot, where his tale rapidly circulated.

“He craves all the affection all the time,” she explained. “He’s simply a jovial, incredible companion. Always sporting a smile.”

Padilla already provides a home for another elderly canine and encourages others to ensure all dogs (regardless of their age) secure loving households.

“I would adore for as many individuals as possible to venture out and adopt those senior dogs. And truly provide an opportunity to an older dog that requires it and would benefit from it and will cherish you for the remainder of their days.”

She has established an Instagram account for people to follow Munchkin’s adventures on social media.

We want to emphasize an essential point not to euthanize your dog if it isn’t suffering. Any and all neighborhood shelters will accept your dog and assist in finding him/her a new residence. Euthanasia should never be the solution in situations like this. Additionally, if you cannot afford or properly care for a dog…Don’t obtain one!
