Tucker and Buddy, two adorable 1-year-old bonded brothers, lost their home when their family had to move away and, unfortunately, couldn’t take them along. Now, these lively felines are looking for their forever family at the SPCA of Wake County. And while both have big personalities, Tucker’s quirkiness makes him truly stand out.

Tucker’s Unusual Obsession: Shoulder Perching

From the day Tucker arrived at the shelter, staff and visitors noticed something special about him—he loves jumping onto people’s shoulders. And it’s not just a once-in-a-while thing; Tucker is fully committed to life as a shoulder cat.

“It might sound like we’re exaggerating, but Tucker would live on your shoulder if he could,” said Samantha Ranlet, Communications Manager at SPCA of Wake County.

Visitors have reported that before they even knew what was happening, Tucker had already leapt onto them. His previous owner hilariously described him as a cat who “will come at you anytime, anywhere. From the floor, a shelf, anywhere. You always have to be ready for Tucker.”

A Playful and Energetic Pair

While Tucker is obsessed with climbing onto shoulders, his brother Buddy has just as much energy but prefers more traditional activities. Together, they make an unstoppable duo that will turn any home into a lively, entertaining space.

The perfect adopters for Tucker and Buddy will need to embrace their playful nature and, most importantly, be okay with having a feline passenger on their shoulders at any given moment.

The Perfect Home for These Lively Brothers

If you’re someone who enjoys an element of unpredictability in your life, these two might be the perfect match for you. Their ideal home will be one that:

  • Can handle a little bit of chaos
  • Appreciates highly playful and active cats
  • Is okay with a full-time shoulder cat
  • Provides plenty of toys and hiding places for them to explore

“These are not zen cats—but they are entertainers,” Ranlet explained. “The antics of these brothers will make every day funnier, livelier, and happier.”

A Unique Pair Ready for Adoption

Aside from their love for attention and shoulder rides, Tucker and Buddy enjoy playing with toys, watching cat TV, and exploring every corner of their surroundings. They are social cats who get along well with other animals and would thrive in a home that allows them to express their high-spirited personalities.

There’s just one condition: their new family must be okay with a feline shoulder buddy—because that’s non-negotiable for Tucker!
