Samuel: From Euthanasia List to Joyful Tripod
At just 10 weeks old, Samuel found himself at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter with a severe paw injury. Without intervention, he was at risk of euthanasia. However, Furry Friends LA stepped in and brought him to safety on September 18.
Despite wearing a heavy cast almost as big as him, Samuel’s kitten energy was unstoppable. He was diagnosed with permanent nerve damage at the wrist, leading to “knuckling,” or walking on the back side of his paw. This painful condition necessitated amputation to prevent further complications.
Post-surgery, Samuel adapted magnificently to life as a tripod. He now thrives in his forever home, enjoying playful activities, watching cat videos, and living the carefree kitten life he deserves.
Todd: The Blind Kitten Who Never Gave Up
Todd’s battle began early on. A severe Feline Herpes Virus infection left him blind and stunted his growth. His life was at risk at Devore Shelter until Furry Friends LA intervened.
Though blind, Todd retained his zest for life. He faced numerous medical challenges, including malabsorption and delayed growth. After six months of care, Todd was stable enough to be adopted.
Despite his blindness, Todd navigates his surroundings perfectly, climbs cat trees with ease, and plays like any other kitten. With love and care, Todd made his journey to his forever home in Pittsburgh, where a devoted adopter awaited him.
