Adopted Shelter Cat with T-Rex Arms Finds Loving Home
Recently, a charming cat named Chance arrived at the MSPCA-Angell adoption center in Salem, Massachusetts. The first thing that stood out to the shelter staff was his undeniable adorableness and sweet nature.
Upon closer examination, the staff noticed something unique about Chance—his front limbs were bent at a 90-degree angle, resembling little T-rex arms. “Everyone at the shelter thought Chance was so cute—once he stood up and we noticed his legs, we immediately loved him even more,” said Celia Jepsky, project coordinator for MSPCA-Angell at Northeast Animal Shelter, to The Dodo.
Thankfully, Chance’s condition, which he was born with, isn’t painful. “Chance’s arms have been like this his whole life,” Jepsky explained. “He knows no different.” Despite his limb difference, Chance was surprisingly agile and active.
The shelter staff initially assumed that such a loving and laid-back cat would be quickly adopted. However, Chance didn’t receive any applications until a video of him was shared on social media.
Katrina, an animal lover with a soft spot for unique pets, came across the post and instantly fell for Chance. After discussing with her partner, Gregg, they decided to adopt him without hesitation. Upon arriving at his new home, Chance immediately felt like family to Gregg and Katrina.
Chance is gradually getting to know his new family, which includes two dogs, Junebug and Broccoli, two rats, Mr. Frodo and Gandalf, and another cat named Walter. “Chance has been acclimating well at home,” Gregg and Katrina shared with The Dodo.
The couple has enjoyed showering Chance with affection, discovering his love for ear and butt scratches. With a loving forever home, Chance is certain to receive endless affection and care for the rest of his life.
