Adopt a Cat: Feline Dating Advice for Pet Lovers
The dedicated staff at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region faced a typical challenge: how to creatively draw attention to the animals that needed adopting. Their solution was both clever and endearing, using the personas of their adoptable cats to give cheeky, sassy dating tips that had everyone charmed.
“This ingenious advice came from our digital communications manager,” a representative shared with The Dodo. Affectionately dubbed “three orange cats in a trench coat,” the manager turned their expertise into viral magic on social media.
Once the whimsical advice was crafted, it was paired with photos of the cats that best embodied each gem of wisdom.
“The advice is probably not something any of these cats has experienced personally,” said the representative. “But they’re shelter pets, so you never know their full past!”

The blend of charming visuals and witty tips resonated instantly, delighting both locals and internet users worldwide.
The initiative’s core goal was to entertain and highlight the deserving cats in need of homes, and it succeeded marvelously. Nearly all the featured cats found loving homes post-launch.
“All but three of the cats have been adopted,” the representative mentioned. “Even though it’s hard to say if the clever post directly led to these adoptions, our ultimate aim is to spread awareness about cat adoption.
