**Discover Capybara’s Daily Adventures with Pumpkin the Capybara**
Capturing the daily routines of animals in their natural habitat can offer invaluable insights into their care and well-being. This narrative on Pumpkin, a delightful capybara, provides an inspiring view into the efforts of the dedicated caretakers at Dark Wings Wildlife.
**A Day in the Life of Pumpkin**
Each morning at sunrise, the barn doors where Pumpkin and her companion, Cheesecake, sleep securely through the night open. This care routine protects them from predators and provides a safe and cozy place to rest. Inside, they have access to clean soaking tubs since capybaras naturally enjoy water and often integrate it into their routines.

As the Florida sun climbs, Pumpkin takes respite in shady areas or under the porch, indulging in tranquil naps. These serene interludes help her stay cool during peak temperatures while conserving energy for her afternoon activities.
**Enrichment Activities**
Beyond fulfilling their basic needs, the caretakers introduce enriching experiences that stimulate curiosity and mental engagement. A highlight involves Pumpkin awaiting her beloved Cappygrams, a unique treat crafted from potato starch.
The caretakers also pique Pumpkin’s curiosity with occasional new foods. Her introduction to sweet honey mango becomes an exciting exploration; her response is a testament to the delightful and inquisitive nature of capybaras.

**Aquatic Adventures**
As the day nears sunset, it’s time for Pumpkin’s favorite activity — swimming. The caretakers unlock the pool, and Pumpkin makes a beeline for the water. Capybaras, the largest rodents in the world, are exceptional swimmers. Floating peacefully offers Pumpkin a chance to cool down and engage in her natural affinity for water.
