Adopt a Resilient Feline with Unique Ears Seeking Family Love
In late August, a stray cat named Cosmo walked through the doors of the Tri-County Humane Society. Despite his distinct appearance owing to his smushed ears, it was evident that Cosmo had endured a tough life. After surviving harsh elements on the streets, his ears bore the marks of untreated infections and frostbite.
Kate Kompas from Tri-County Humane Society shared with The Dodo, “While we don’t know his backstory, he appears to have lived a rough and tumble life.” To aid in Cosmo’s transition, the shelter staff provided him with much-needed time and space to acclimate to his new environment.
Although his ears make him stand out, Cosmo seemed unfazed by this fact. Kompas adds, “I don’t know if he knows he’s different, but he’s a cat, so he likely thinks he’s special anyway.” His unique appearance is a testament to his resilience, offering a visual narrative of his survival against adversity.
A Special Cat Looking for a Peaceful Home
Cosmo is looking for a family who can respect his independence and give him the chance to adjust in his own time. He would thrive in a tranquil home setting where he can gradually warm up to human interaction.
“He’s definitely an independent cat who appreciates having boundaries, but he has a sweet, loving side,” says Kompas. “The way to his heart is definitely food, our volunteers report — if you want pets, he wants food in exchange.”
