Cyclist Rescues Abandoned Baby After Hearing Cries by Roadside

“It was quite loud, so I turned back and started looking,” Panini recounted to The Dodo. Her keen sense of curiosity and compassion led her to an unexpected discovery—a tiny black kitten, no more than a few days old, stranded entirely alone.
While the origins of the kitten’s predicament remain a mystery, Panini’s immediate reaction left no question that she would not abandon the helpless feline. Through determination and persistence, she managed to locate the kitten, which had initially proved difficult due to its diminutive size. “Judging by the meows, I initially thought there might be more than one, but I searched and didn’t find any others,” she explained.
Panini’s heartwarming gesture was to provide the kitten with a ride back to her home by securing it gently inside her shirt. Despite a few initial challenges with the enthusiastic kitten trying to wiggle its way out, she creatively accommodated the little traveler. “The first few kilometers were quite challenging; the kitten kept trying to climb out,” Panini shared. Yet, persistence paid off and soon the kitten settled quietly during the journey.
Once safely at her home, Panini immediately took action to nurture and feed the young creature, purchasing kitten formula to fill its empty stomach. For two nights, she dedicated herself to caring for the kitten, ensuring it was warm and well-fed. Recognizing the need for specialized care, she later entrusted the kitten to Angela, an experienced cat rescuer capable of providing further nurturing.
