Cat Takes Over Woman’s Car, Delays Her Commute Every Morning
For most people, the morning routine involves grabbing a coffee, getting dressed, and heading to work. But for Aynuse Ceylan, each day begins with an unexpected obstacle—an overly persistent cat named Rifki, who has decided her car belongs to him.
Rifki, a strikingly beautiful feline with a thick coat and an intense gaze, roams the streets of Turkey with an air of confidence. However, he doesn’t merely wander; he strategically claims territory. One unfortunate day for Aynuse, that territory became her car.
The Unyielding Guardian of the Car
Not long after moving into her new apartment, Aynuse first encountered Rifki in an amusing yet frustrating manner. As she prepared to leave for work, she noticed Rifki comfortably lounging atop her car. When she attempted to shoo him away, he refused to budge — instead, he looked downright offended at the thought of giving up ‘his’ spot.
Realizing Rifki wouldn’t move on his own, Aynuse had to seek help from the building’s security guard. That, however, was just the beginning. The next morning, and every morning after that, Rifki returned, confidently perching himself on top of the vehicle as if it was his personal throne.
From Car to Apartment Doorstep
It quickly became clear that Rifki was not just a typical stray. He was determined, a little headstrong, and completely unwilling to part ways with Aynuse’s vehicle. Day after day, he reappeared, staking his claim before she could even get to work.
In an amusing attempt to make her mornings easier, Aynuse repeatedly pleaded with Rifki, urging him to let her drive to work in peace. But to no avail. Instead, Rifki took things a step further.
After becoming acquainted with Aynuse, Rifki decided to expand his routine. Not only did he commandeer the car, but he also learned where she lived. Now, whenever he feels hungry, he simply goes to her doorstep and meows persistently until she feeds him.
Reluctant Acceptance
Despite his mischievous antics, Aynuse has grown fond of Rifki. She knows he has a home elsewhere, yet he continues to show up at her car and apartment like clockwork.
At first, his stubbornness annoyed her—after all, being consistently late to work is never ideal. But over time, she found herself laughing at the cat’s determined personality.
“I’ve accepted Rifki in his psychotic state,” she joked to The Dodo. “It’s no longer a problem. He’s a free spirit.”
An Unexpected Friendship
Despite causing regular delays, Rifki has become an undeniable part of Aynuse’s daily life. Whether he’s lounging on the car or waiting at the doorstep, he has made it clear—he’s not just passing through, he’s sticking around.
Though she never intended to have a stubborn feline as a neighbor, Aynuse has grown attached to her unexpected furry companion. It’s safe to say that Rifki isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
