Compassion Amidst Chaos: Rabee’s Mission to Help Stray Animals in Gaza

The conflict in Gaza has brought many hardships, with countless families losing their homes and livelihoods as the war unfolds. Among this chaos, vulnerable pets are often separated from their families, left to survive on their own amongst the rubble. However, a young boy named Abdullah Rabee has taken it upon himself to be a beacon of hope for these stray animals.

A Routine of Resilience

Rabee starts his day by attending school whenever possible, given that there are only a few schools still operational in Gaza. After finishing his studies, he immediately switches gears, dedicating his time and energy to feeding hundreds of stray animals each day.

These animals have lost both their homes and the people who cared for them, leaving them alone in the world. Rabee has become a lifeline for many of these vulnerable creatures. He embarked on this mission of feeding and caring for animals from the very beginning of the conflict and has steadfastly continued for nearly three years.

Family Support and Determination

Rabee’s father accompanies him during his daily rounds to help feed the stray pets, ensuring his safety in the process. The family occasionally deviates from this routine when prioritizing their own well-being becomes necessary. Nevertheless, Rabee remains committed, resuming his efforts at the earliest opportunity with no intentions of halting his mission.

Embracing Compassion at Home

Since commencing his noble endeavor, Rabee and his family have rescued and adopted twelve cats, providing them with a safe and loving home. Despite the challenges of sourcing food and supplies, Rabee stays undeterred, knowing he is doing the right thing.

“I hope you talk about me and be a voice for the voiceless,” Rabee expressed in a heartfelt video shared.

Spreading Awareness

Rabee leverages social media platforms to elevate awareness about his mission, hoping people worldwide will acknowledge and support his selfless work.

“I will continue my mission to feed and save the lives of more stray animals, even if they are among the rubble and destruction,” Rabee articulated on Instagram. “I will reach them.”

The future remains uncertain for Rabee, yet his commitment to helping the animals of Gaza endows him with a sense of purpose and joy—an endeavor far from insignificant.
