Kitten Fascinated by Dad’s Amazing Shadow Puppet Show
Philip Jose Galit, known in the entertainment industry as Shadow Ace, has captivated audiences across Asia with his extraordinary shadow puppetry skills, landing him a spot as a grand finalist on Asia’s Got Talent. Utilizing just a light source and his agile hands, Galit crafts mesmerizing performances that have enchanted not only people but also his feline companion, Kutilog.
Kutilog, aptly named due to his playful nature as the word “kulit” in Tagalog signifies “very playful” or “cheeky”, is a constant presence during Galit’s practice sessions at home. Galit describes his kitten as not only mischievous but also incredibly sweet, adding a unique layer of joy to his artistic process.
It was during one such rehearsal, highlighted by Galit’s hand shadow inspired by Michael Jackson, that Kutilog’s curiosity peaked. The kitten, fascinated by the shadow figures, charged toward the wall in an attempt to engage the animated silhouette as a playmate.
Having Kutilog as part of his practice routine not only enhances the experience for Galit but occasionally presents a delightful distraction. “It makes me happy that Kutilog is there whenever I practice,” said Galit, “but sometimes I also lose focus because it makes me want to stop and just play with him instead.”
Beyond his adoration for Kutilog, Galit embraces a broader affection for animals, frequently incorporating them into his shadow performances. “Our pets contribute greatly to our mental health. Even during times when we are alone, they keep us company, and that truly helps me,” expressed Galit, valuing the emotional support his pets provide.
Galit’s shadow puppetry, though often conducted away from the public eye, is never a solitary affair. With Kutilog by his side, ready to pounce at any intriguing shadow that crosses his path, Galit enjoys an audience that is consistent and charmingly unpredictable.
In a world where shadows tell stories, having a furry friend like Kutilog provides a sweet reminder of the joy and connection pets bring, even when they’re under the impression that shadows on a wall represent yet another game.
