Pizza and Luna: Rescue Street Cats Living Their Best Life
Meet Pizza, a ginger tabby, and Luna, a torbie, two remarkable cats with inspiring rescue stories. These two felines both faced challenging beginnings, enduring the harsh realities of life on the streets. But thanks to a compassionate couple, their lives took a beautiful turn towards happiness.
Pizza was the first to be welcomed into his new home. One fateful date night, while on their way to grab dinner, the couple discovered a sickly kitten on the street. The little guy made his way toward them, clearly in need of help. Without hesitation, they scooped him up and rushed him to the veterinarian. Pizza was found to be severely malnourished and dehydrated with an eye infection. His prognosis appeared grim; however, this resilient kitten showed remarkable determination to recover. After months of care, he began to flourish.
After Pizza’s successful recovery, his family realized he could benefit from a companion. This is where Luna entered the picture—a timid, rescued feral kitten who had been living on the streets with her mother and siblings. The couple came across Luna through a small rescue organization, and they were immediately drawn to her sweetness. They adopted Luna, hoping she and Pizza would bond.
Initially, the introduction between Pizza and Luna was a bit tense. Pizza was cautious, taking some time to adjust to the presence of a new kitten. In contrast, Luna was excited and eager to explore her surroundings. Soon enough, she adapted, filled the home with energy, and the two cats developed a strong bond.
Dynamic Personalities
Pizza’s mama describes him as “a very lazy boy!” He enjoys lounging around and indulging in food, often curling up in bed for cuddles and showering his humans with affectionate head bumps and adorable slow blinks. Luna, however, is quite the opposite. She is full of energy, loves to play, and even has a unique talent—she can play fetch! Luna is also known for her love of butt scratches and her constant purring.
Nicknames Galore
The couple affectionately dubs Pizza with a multitude of playful nicknames, such as Pizzy, Pizzu, and Pizchooku. For Luna, the names include Luna Bug, reflecting her love for chasing after bugs, as well as Little Luna. Together, they are jokingly called the Spagooters.
Location
The happy family resides in Sydney, Australia, where Pizza and Luna enjoy an indoor lifestyle filled with love, affection, and endless playtime.
A Model of Resilience
Pizza and Luna serve not only as pets but also as reminders of the resilience found in rescue animals. These two cats, once facing adversity, now embody the joy a loving home can foster.
