She doesn’t leave their side,” Charli said. The love Annie had for the little ones was genuine, and she watched over them as if they were her own.
As the kittens matured and began seeking their own independence, Annie also began to reclaim a bit of hers. No longer tethered to a litter, she started spending more time wandering the island, enjoying nature and making pit stops at nearby places like hotels or cafes. But no matter how far she roamed in the summer months, winter always brought her home.
“In the winter, she chooses to come and snuggle in my bed with me, and I don’t mind having her for half the year!” said Charli, reflecting on their unusual but beautiful relationship.
